.perjalananakhirzaman.

Assalamualaikum.

Fikir-fikirkanlah. Sebagai muhasabah untuk diri sendiri.

Semoga kita tidak tergolong dalam kalangan orang-orang yang rugi dan menyekutukan Allah. Nauzubillah. Firman-Nya dalam surah al-Baqarah, ayat 165, mafhumnya;

.stereotype.

"A 15 year old girl holds her 1 year old son, people call her a slut. But no one knew she was raped at 13; make fun of someone for being fat, but you don't know that person has a serious medical condition that causes her to be fat. Call the old guy ugly, but you don't know if he got a serious face injury after serving the country or saving a life. Stop stereotyping and think before you start talking trash of others."

Assalamualaikum.

It has been so long since the last time I updated my blog. I guess there is nothing much to say here and there are so many things to do like playing counter-strike, doing tutorials, playing counter-strike again, doing lab reports and again playing counter-strike -.-".

Okay. Regarding the statement above, I think it totally describes the idea that I have been keeping in my head all this time. However, due to lack of initiatives or methods on delivering it, so it just remained in my head until now. Thank you for my batch mate, OP Daryl for this meaningful statement.

First of all, I totally agree with it. Stereotype. Briefly, stereotype is a popular belief about a group of people or types of individuals. It was derived from the Greek words, "stereos" which means firm and "typos" which means impression. In combination, it is called solid impression. Psychologists claimed that stereotyping peoples are good in certain ways but in other perspectives, it is not.

Stereotyping practically splits people into groups and in some cases classify them into social classes. Given, the example of the 15 years old girl, most of people who sees her will think her in a bad perspective. Some even avoid to get close to her. Without having even a little of humanity, people will call her a dirty girl. Ask yourself, what will you do ?

Next example, the fat guy. A fat guy always get awful nicknames; "boyot", "tembam", "debab" n so on. Furthermore, the thing that makes this situation more interesting is that those who initiate these names are those who are thin n maybe underweight. And if we go further, why do they really do this ? Most probably they are jealous with those so called fat peoples. Come on. Can you (those involved) just pause for a while and think of those, so called fat peoples. They too are human, and they too have their on matter and problems. Ask yourself, what will you do ?

The last example that I'm going to talk about is not stated in the statement above. It's regarding money and wealth. This is just a simple example. You have a friend. You know that person for a while. That person is quite nice and always a good friend to you. One day, you discovered that that person's parents' incomes are extremely high (which is beyond the average household income). Then, the following day, you start saying things regarding the income, "your family is very rich, why need scholarship?" or "you can buy anything you like, because you are rich. my family is not that rich". Or some might just avoid seeing that person. This situation is very typical, not only in the television but also in real life. So so so so stereotype. Have you ever wondered, is the household income totally for that person ? a wise person can also think this logically. When great power comes great responsibility. Ask yourself, what will you do ?

That's all.
